







Polling Stations opened for the second phase of multi-party general election in Myanmar on Sunday, covering 100 townships nationwide.
In Yangon Region, voters from 16 townships are casting their votes to elect the candidates who will serve for the nation in the new government after the election. Voters hope for peace and stability of the country, ensuring socio-economic development of grassroot people.
In Hlaing Township, six candidates from the political parties and an individual, totalling seven candidates are contesting for Pyithu Hluttaw seat. The officials provided convenient arrangement for the voters to ensure smooth voting process.
Over 24.26 million individuals are eligible to vote for the election which is being held in thress phases. A total of 4,863 candidates from 57 political parties and individual candidates are competing in 692 constituencies. Among them, 6 parties are contesting nationwide while 51 in State/Region level.
