Belizeans voice expectations for ties with the UK

People in Belmopan spoke of their expectations of the relation between the UK and Belize, a Commonwealth member, after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Some extended their condolences to the royal family while others voiced their concerns about the future monarch and their preferred members of the Royal family in line of succession.

Belize, is the sole English-speaking Central American country and the only with such ties to England. It became independent in 1981.
