Belarus releases 123 prisoners

Belarus has released more than 100 prisoners. The Belarusian government announced in a social media post on Saturday that President Alexander Lukashenko has decided to pardon 123 people.  Those freed have been transported to neighboring Ukraine and Lithuania.

Local media outlets have reported that the move followed two days of negotiations between Lukashenko and US President Donald Trump's envoy. The reports say the US agreed to lift sanctions imposed on Belarusian-made fertilizer in return.\
