Honey, produced with GBP system has better taste and quality than other, and it can penetrate foreign markets.

Deputy Director, Myo Tin, Beekeeping Development Division (Magway), said " GBP system is mostly focused on hygiene of beekeepers, and staffs have to wear the designated suits. Honey comb storage boxes need to be clean with no odor as it can easily absorb the smell which could affect the quality of honey comb. We conduct this educative talk for the local beekeepers to gain knowledge and to be able to produce quality honey and its related products."

In Magway region, 70 private beekeepers are running their beekeeping businesses with over 10,000 honey combs. About 300 tonnes of honey can be able to produce annually, and among them, about 200 tonnes are exported to foreign countries. Currently, a viss of honey earned about 4,500 to 4,700 kyats.
