The beautiful Tian Shan Snow Lotus in Xinjiang

The Tian Shan Snow Lotus is a national second-class protected plant in China and is known as the “treasure of the snow mountain”. It mainly grows on the cliffs and high-altitude grasslands below the snowline, at an altitude of 3,000 to 4,000 meters.

Due to its special growth environment, the snow lotus takes 3 to 5 years to flower and bear fruit. On the steep cliffs of Hejing County in Xinjiang, snow lotuses grow out of the rock crevices, forming a unique natural landscape.
