Bean Market :Butter bean fetches a good price in market

In early July, due to high demand from China, India, Japan and European, butter beans fetches good price and high rate of sale in the Mandalay beans and pulses market.

There are large, medium and small sizes of butter beans and the bean price is different depending on their sizes.The price of large butter bean is estimated at 320,000 Kyats per three-basket bag and the price of small size butter bean is estimated at 300,000 Kyats per three-basket bag at Mandalay beans and pulses market.

Due to the increase in domestic consumption and foreign demand, the price of butter beans has risen the good price. Last year, the price of butter beans (large) was 200,000 kyats per three-basket bag and small butter beans were 190,000 kyats per three-basket bag.

So, it significantly soared to 120,000 kyats per bag in this year, according to official. As butter beans can be exported to domestic and foreign markets, it can seek foreign income. Bean model plantations have been planted in Mahlaing and Natogyi townships to improving high yield and obtain good varieties.
