Beach Cleaning and Coral Reef planting programme in the recreation area

Kedah Department of Environment, in collaboration with Laguna Merbok and Sungai Petani Hospitals, along with the Malaysian Nature Lovers Association, successfully planted and submerged 100 coral reefs and artificial reefs near Songsong Island.

The initiative, part of a Beach Cleaning Program, involved 60 participants. Participants also collected 50 kilograms of island trash, enhancing environmental cleanliness alongside conservation efforts.
