






The opening ceremony of the 2025 Summer Basic Sports Training Course, organized by the Mon State Sports and Physical Education Committee, was held at the Mon State Sports Stadium in Mawlamyine on Monday. The event was attended by the State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, departmental officials, and trainees.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that within Mon State, basic summer sports training courses will be conducted during the summer school holidays. These will include 11 sports at the state level, 7 sports at the district level, and 3 sports at the township level. He encouraged the trainees to diligently practice and build a strong foundation in their respective sports, as they have shown great interest in participating.
Following this, the Chief Minister handed over the necessary sports equipment for the training course, which was received by a sports instructor. Additionally, the Minister of Social Affairs received sports equipment provided by the Myanmar Hockey Federation.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister and State Ministers watched demonstrations of Myanmar traditional martial art (Thaing), karate, and hockey. They also warmly greeted and interacted with the trainees.
The training course, which covers 11 sports, will run from March 3 to March 24. It is reported that 629 trainees will participate in the course.
