Basic Sewing Training: Rakhine State CM delivered the opening speech

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended and delivered an opening speech at the opening ceremony of Basic Sewing Training for Ethnic Youths. Organized by the Rakhine State Government, the event was a collaborative effort between the Department of Protection of Ethnic Rights and the Department of Social Welfare, held at U Ottama Hall in Sittwe on 14th July.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Minister U Htein Lin stated that while the ethnic groups residing in Rakhine State have diverse cultures and customs, they have always fostered a family spirit, valued and respected each other, and coexisted peacefully. He added that the Rakhine State Government is actively working to implement comprehensive development for all ethnic groups in the state by effectively utilizing available resources and ensuring the right people are in the right places. He also mentioned that among the training programs prioritized by ethnic groups, the basic sewing training was chosen as the top priority, which is why it was given precedence.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister presented a grant of 18 million kyats for the basic sewing training. The Assistant Director of the Department of Protection of Ethnic Rights and the Principal of the Vocational Training School for Domestic Science received the funds. Following this, Daw Swe Swe Myat, Patron of the State Mother and Child Care Supervisory Committee, presented teaching aids to the basic sewing trainees. The Chief Minister and his wife, along with other officials, took a commemorative photo with the trainees and warmly greeted those attending the ceremony.

After that, the Chief Minister attended and delivered a speech at a coordination meeting held at the Rakhine State Government Office meeting hall. This meeting focused on setting local market prices for construction materials, transportation, and labor costs for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
