


BASIC NEEDS: FOODSTUFF SELLS AT LOW PRICE
Shan State Consumer Affairs Department sells the basic foodstuff to the locals with low price starting October 6th.
During the outbreak of COVID-19 disease, the basic foodstuff such as rice, edible oil and salt have been sold at the department office with reasonable price from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Deputy Director, Shan State Consumer Affairs Department, Tint Lwin Oo said "We have stockpiles of rice, edible oil, beans and pulses and other basic foodstuff that our department has been purchased and stored.
During the outbreak of COVID-19 disease, the commodity flow becomes slow and also rare job opportunities caused sufferings to the people. So, we are selling the basic foodstuff with low price."
One Pyi of Eamahta rice is sold at 1000 kyats, one viss of salt with 120 kyats and 50 ticals of edible oil with 900 kyats respectively.
Staff Officer, Consumer Affairs Department (Taunggyi), Than Toe said "We are selling the basic foodstuff to the people with the guidance of Shan State Government. Since there are many townships under the Stay at Home program, we are doing this to prevent from selling the basic foodstuff with high price."
Locals expressed thanks to the arrangements of the Shan State Government as they can buy the basic needs with cheap price conveniently.
Resident, Phaya Phyu Ward, Taunggyi, Kyi Htwe said "It is very convenient for us to buy rice here. The price is also cheap. We really thank for selling the basic foodstuff for us"

It is learnt that the basic foodstuff can also be available with low price at 7 shops in Taunggyi which are the members of Shan State Rice Association.
