Bar Council Meeting: MoLA UM UAG attended the meeting

The Bar Council Meeting (2/2025) was held on 3-12-2025 at the Bar Council Office located in Building No. (6), Cluster-1, Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Camp, Wanna Theiddhi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, at which Union Minister for the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General, and Chairperson of the Bar Council Dr. Thida Oo, attended and participated in the discussions.

At the meeting, discussions and decisions were made on the matters included the matter of the Supreme Court of the Union seeking the views of the Bar Council regarding whether or not there are objections to 371 Advocate applicants seeking to be enrolled as Advocates, the matter of the Supreme Court of the Union seeking the views of the Bar Council on the appropriateness of taking suitable action under Section 10 (1) of the Bar Council Act against 31 Advocates who breached the Code of Conduct for Advocates, the matter of applications submitted by 4 Advocates seeking endorsement of their good character for appointment as Bank Advocates, the matter of reporting on the conduct of one legal discussion forum among legal practitioners, the matter of amending Rule 1(b), Rule 8, and Rule 15 of the 1954 Rules for Admission as an Advocate, the matter of recording complaints transferred and sent to the Supreme Court of the Union, the matter of recording orders related to cases of severe warning, suspension, and cancellation of the right to practice as an Advocate and the matter of reporting on the status of the maintenance of water outlet lines under the apron and zinc roof of the office building, it’s learnt.
