Bar Council: Bar Council Of The Supreme Court Held Its Meeting 2/2019

The Bar Council of the Supreme Court held its meeting 2/2019 in the meeting hall of the Union Attorney-General’s Office on Wednesday morning.

In his speech at the meeting, Bar Council of the Supreme Court’s Chairman Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo said that the union parliament has enacted the revised Supreme Court Bar Council Law on 10th June, 2019.

According to the revised law, the 11 Supreme Court lawyers who has at least 15 years of service are to be elected by the Supreme Court Lawyers in line with the bylaw which will be issued by the Supreme Court of the Union.

To enable to issue the by-law, the Supreme Court Bar Council needs to submit the notion to the Supreme Court of the Union as quickly as possible.

In today’s meeting, 438 registration forms applied to be the Supreme Court Lawyer will be assess and approved. in order to issue the Supreme Court Lawyer registration smart card, it’s already done for 2012 lawyers out of 3649 individuals sent by the regions and states. when all have been done, those will be distributed.

Next, the members of the Supreme Court Bar Council discussed the matters on revised Supreme Court Bar Council Law, seeking the opinion regarding with the code of conduct of the Supreme Court Lawyers and the permission to register as the Supreme Court Lawyer. The meeting was concluded in the afternoon.

The chairman, vice chairman of 10 members of the Bar Council of the Supreme Court attended the meeting.
