Banking Sector: CBM Governor holds meetings in Yangon

Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) Daw Than Than Swe met with officials from the Central Bank of Myanmar (Yangon branch) on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Risk-based Supervision methods mentioned in the Onsite Examination Manual and Onsite Examination plans for financial fraud were discussed. On the same day, the Governor led a coordination meeting supervised by the Mobile Money Financial Services Industry Oversight Committee Yangon to prevent cases of financial fraud and organize the Action Task Force.

During the meeting, the Governor discussed matters regarding financial fraud through the communication network, information access and screening for prevention, and action on Standard Operating Procedure. Attendees also discussed the formation of the Action Task Force, issues related to financial fraud, notifications on mobile websites so that the public can easily find out, and statements and awareness programmes using social media.
