Bangladesh unveils new banknotes

Bangladesh Bank has released images of six newly designed banknotes that will soon be in circulation. Notably, these new notes will not feature the image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh Bank Governor presented the new designs to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson for the central bank, the redesigned notes will instead showcase images of significant national landmarks, including Hindu and Buddhist temples. Meanwhile, all existing banknotes and coins featuring Mujibur Rahman will continue to be valid alongside the new series.
