Bangladesh rock concert cancelled after clashes

A rock concert in Bangladesh was cancelled after clashes during a school anniversary event in Faridpur district left at least 25 people injured.

The concert by veteran Bangladeshi rock singer James, known as Nagar Baul, was scheduled as the closing programme of Faridpur Zila School’s 185th anniversary celebrations. The incident occurred on Friday night at the school premises.

The event was called off after violence broke out when a group of outsiders allegedly attempted to enter the school premises by force and began throwing bricks and stones. Students reportedly resisted, leading to confrontations at the venue. The district administration ordered the cancellation due to security concerns and authorities are assessing the situation as investigations continue.
