The local administration has advised tourists to refrain from travelling to Bangladesh’s three hill districts of Bandarban, Rangamati, and Khagrachari from October 8-31.

This request comes amid concerns over recent unrest in the region, which has left five people dead and several injured. The decision was made to ensure the safety of visitors amid ongoing tensions in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

With the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, many hotels and motels in the three hill districts had received numerous bookings. The cancellation of these bookings is expected to cause significant losses for local businesses in the tourism sector.
