




Bangladesh’s longest ever Bangabandhu railway bridge over the Jamuna River is now fully visible. All the 49 spans of the structure have been installed. The 4.8-kilometer bridge will cost Taka 16 thousand, 7.8 billion jointly financed by Bangladesh and Japan. Engineers and workers are working relentlessly to open the structure in December this year for movements of trains.
Insiders say, as many as 88 trains will be able to run over the duel gauge and double Track Bridge daily. The northern parts of the country will come under a smooth rail network promoting industrialization and business. The Railway Bridge is a lifeline connecting the north-western part with the eastern part of Bangladesh.
