Bangkok’s Khaosan Road marks somber Halloween during royal mourning

Amid a national mourning period for the late Queen Mother Sirikit who passed away late Friday, Halloween festivities on Bangkok's famous Khaosan Road were significantly quieter than usual.

On the rainy Friday night, the celebrations were adapted out of respect, featuring low-volume music and minimal vibrant lightings and decorations. While costumes were still worn, many Thai participants paid respect to the former Queen by incorporating black attire into their spooky ensembles.
