





Organized by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the Establishment of Bakery & Pastry Training Project that is being undertaken by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2022) was launched in conjunction with the opening of basic baking course at the Centre for Tourism Development in Yangon on Monday.
This is the 2nd project of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, undertaken by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund.
Naung Naung Lin Aung, Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism said "The aims of the project are to create job employments for young people, vulnerable people and women and to increase their income. On the other hand, we intend to turn out skilled employees for the tourism industry and to develop the careers on hotels and tourism sectors. Under the project, we have arranged to open baking courses for 10 times and 20 trainees will be trained for one course and a total of 200 trainees will be produced for 10 times. We have a plan to arrange Training of Trainers for baking courses for 5 times."
The Director of Directorate of Hotels and Tourism added that the training is free of charge and they will provide uniforms and transportation fees for the trainees. After the course, they will arrange for the trainees to do internships at hotels and restaurants. The skilled trainers will help those who want to establish the owned confectionaries.
Chaw Su Khine, Trainer said "We will train baking methods of 48 kind of snacks such as bakery, bissli, bread, cookies, Pisa and so on. We also will teach theoretically and practically food hygiene system and do’s and don’ts for the hygienic food."
20 trainees are attending the course and the skilled trainers will teach baking methods of 48 kind of snacks during 4-week course.
