The Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh are celebrating the three-day Baisabi festival, a significant cultural event for the region’s indigenous communities. The name Baisabi is a blend of three different festivals celebrated by the three largest indigenous groups in the region Baisuk by Tripura, Sangria by the Marma, and Biju by the Chakma people.

The festivities began with flower offerings to Ganga Devi, a revered river goddess in Hindu tradition, symbolizing purity and life. The offerings were made on the serene waters of Kaptai Lake, adding spiritual depth to the celebrations. The festival highlights the traditions, music, and dance of each community while promoting unity and a shared cultural identity.
