Bago Region Investment Sector: Over 173 mil USD worth investment from 2021 to 2023

Regarding the investment sector in Bago region, domestic and foreign industries have resumed and expended their businesses. From the 1st of February 2021 to the 1st of March 2023, investments worth 173.783 million USD were made in the Region and it could create over 8,450 jobs.

Director, Ko Ko Lat, DICA (Bago Region) said "Regarding the local investment, the investment in Shwegyin rubber factory in Shwegyin Township has increased. That rubber factory business started with about 30 businessmen and buys rubber from local rubber growers. Now, the number of shareholders has increased, and investment amount has reached over 1.7 billion kyats. They are also trying to penetrate the international market."

According to the Director of Directorate of Companies Administration, there are over 180 investments in Bago Region and a garment factory will also be set up near Nyaung Yein Village with the investment amount of 40 million USD from the Korean-based garment factory.
