Bago Region Chief Minister’s Cup : U-23 Sepak Takraw Tournament Kicks Off

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Bago Region Chief Minister’s Cup U-23 Men’s Sepak Takraw Tournament was held at the indoor stadium on Shwemawdaw Pagoda Road in Bago on Saturday.

Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win attended the event, and made a speech, saying that the tournament aims to discover talented young athletes, promote team spirit among townships, and support the development of Sepak Takraw sports. He highlighted Bago Region’s previous achievements, including gold and bronze medals at national-level competitions.

Then, the athletes from participating teams recited the four-point sportsmanship oath, before the opening match between Bago and Shwe Taung townships. The tournament runs from July 4 to 8, with 28 township teams from across Bago Region competing in 8 groups.
