Bago Flood :Bago CM visits rescue camps and provides assistance

Due to the heavy rain, flooding was occurred in Bago region. Therefore, around 30 temporary rescue camps are being opened in 13 wards and 6 villages in the region. 

On 12th August, region chief minister visited the occasions and provided basic food items for the victims and cash assistance for the health care workers.

Under the Region Natural Disaster Management Committee, efforts are being made to be able to make systematic provisions for the victims.

Region Economic Affairs Minister,Tin Oo said " Not only from our region government, there are rice boxes, water bottles and assistance provided by well-wishers. For us, under the instructions of region chief minister, the flood victims at the respective camps have been provided the necessary food supplies including 150 bags of rice, 500 vises of edible oil, 100 vises of salt, meats, fish and more."

Victim said " Me and my baby moved to the safety place as soon as the water level rises and can’t even care our household items. My baby feels skin problems and the flood makes some people cause minor health problems. But now, I’m really grateful for the health care workers as the way they care for all of us. We now get the basic food items also."

No fatalities were reported and the relevant concerned officials, departments and organizations in the region are jointly putting efforts for the relief measures.
