Myanmar National Badminton Championship 2018 kicked off on Monday Morning at Myanmar Badminton Federation, Lamadaw Township in Yangon.
This Myanmar National badminton Championship 2018 is the biggest Badminton tournament in Myanmar with more than 400 contestants from across the country. The competition aims to promote Badminton sports among the community and to select outstanding players for the international competitions.
Vice Chairman, Myanmar Badminton Federation, Thet San said “The Myanmar National Badminton Championship 2018 is held with the management of our Federation for the third time. We classified into 8 events including junior and senior level competition based on the ages. This championship includes single and double events. We will select the most outstanding player from each tournament as a national player through this competition.”
Currently, there are three badminton courts in Yangon. The federation is carrying out to emerge new badminton courts for the players. If they received government supports, the standard of badminton sports will develop.
After this competition, the most outstanding contestants will be coached by well-experienced trainers at youth camps to compete in other international tournaments.
Player, Twal Tar Oo said “I will compete in women single event of Senior level. I have been joining this competition since 2013. This is 5th time for me. So I got many new experiences and knowledge in competition. I prepared the best for this competition than last year. I will try with my upmost effort to be the most outstanding player.”
Player, Kaung Zaw Hein said “I will compete in single and double events of the Junior level. I have been joined this national competition since I was a child. I have been prepared the best for this competition since last year. I will try my best to be a Campion.”
It’s learnt that Myanmar National Badminton Championship 2018 is set to be held for 5 days from the 24th to 28th of December.
