The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards kicked off at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The events brought out some of music's most celebrated artists and most popular bands for an unforgettable evening of bombastic music acts and memorable acceptance speeches. Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys was given the Innovator award, and later performed with her 8-year-old son Egypt on piano.

SINGER, ALICIA KEYS said  "You know, I have to say, I've got to be really honest with you, it means so much to be honored as an innovator, because when I first started out, nobody was, like, look at that tomboy from Hell's Kitchen who graduated high school at 15, you know, the one with the braids who seems obsessed with her broken-down piano, what a fantastic innovator she is." Pop superstar Taylor Swift credited her fans with the success of her Reputation Stadium Tour as she won Tour of the Year.

SINGER, TAYLOR SWIFT said  "Yeah, you guys were the reason why this tour, the only reason why this tour wasn't a massive failure and why it ended up being the highest selling tour in U.S. history. That's all you."

Nineties boy band The Backstreet Boys revived their hits "I Want It That Way" and "No Place". The show also featured performances by Ariana Grande, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend and Garth Brooks. Country singer Maren Morris, along with producer Zedd and electronic musical duo Grey, took home the Song of the Year award for their release "The Middle".
