Back to School :Over 847,000 students enrolled in Mandalay Region

Basic Education Schools from nationwide were opened for 2023-2024 Academic Year on 1st of June 2023. Students at Basic Education Schools in Mandalay also attended the schools peacefully and happily.

Teachers on duty carried out the procedures in line with COVID-19 rules and regulations at the school entrances and then allowed students to enter the school. During the school enrollment week starting from 23rd to 31st May, there were 711,364 students enrolled at Basic Education Schools, 80,349 students at monastic education schools, 55,451 students at private schools; totaling 847,164 students who are enrolled for 2023-2024 Academic Year in Mandalay Region.

It is a free education system and the school enrollment is free of charge. Moreover, students are provided with text books, note books, stationary and uniforms. For the security and safety of students, members of Myanmar Traffic Police and Myanmar Police Force, Fire brigade members and officials concerned are conducting security measures both inside and at the surrounding areas of schools.

There are 4,270 Basic Education Schools, 320 monastic education schools and 230 private schools in Mandalay Region.
