Back Home: UEC Chairman arrives back in Yangon

A delegation led by Chairman of Union Election Commission U Thein Soe who studied the 7th National Election Commission of Cambodia from 21st to 25th July at the invitaiton of Cambodia Election Commission, arrived back in Yangon on Tuesday evening.

They were welcomed back by members of Union Election Commission, Yangon Region Government, Advocate General and officials of Yangon Region Election Sub-commission.

During the study tour, the UEC Chairman and member U Soe Oo attended a discussion on clariying the processes to international election observers that was held on 22nd July and also observed preparations of polling stations in Phnom Penh and Kandal province, opening polling booths and voting processes.

Through the study tour, the delegation studied holding election of Cambodia, conditions of opening polling stations and voting, counting votes, tradititional customs of Cambodia and remarkable places. Chairmen of Election Commissions and Vice Chairmen and study tour groups from relevant election commissions from Thailand, India, the Philippines, Russia and Timor-Leste also made study.
