Awareness Seminar on Solar Energy: MOHTC UM delivered the opening remarks

The “Awareness Seminar and Exhibition on the Installation and Use of Solar Energy Systems” was held Tuesday morning at Hotel Max in Nay Pyi Taw. Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint attended the event and delivered the opening address.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the event was an important occasion for the development of the hotel and tourism sector as well as for improving energy efficiency. He explained that the seminar was organized with the objectives of helping hotels and guesthouses gain a better understanding of solar energy systems, encouraging their practical application, reducing energy consumption, and promoting environmentally friendly energy use that supports environmental conservation.

Next, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than delivered a speech. Representatives from a solar energy company explained matters related to the installation and use of solar power systems, while representatives from the Myanmar Tourism Bank clarified the loan arrangements available for businesses wishing to install and utilize solar energy systems. Responsible officials also answered questions raised by attendees according to their respective sectors.

Afterward, the Union Minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, deputy ministers, council members, and attendees toured and observed the solar energy installation and usage exhibits on display, it’s reported.
