Awareness Seminar: MoIP conducts seminar on Anti-corruption

An awareness seminar on anti-corruption jointly conducted by the Ministry of Immigration and Population and the Anti-Corruption Commission was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

At the event, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing said that the seminar aimed for the staff to raise knowledge on anti-corruption.

Corruption is a crime that hinders the implementation of development tasks and it is also moral failure. In other words, it is a crime committed by calculating the benefits.

Corruption can happen in various forms in various fields and if the corruption is committed, he or she will be taken action under the anti-corruption law. So, every staff needs to be aware and avoid it.

The Union Minister explained about undertakings of the Ministry for anti-bribery by forming the Corruption Prevention Unit-CPU, conducting educative seminars and training courses on the anti-corruption to raise public awareness, distributing pamphlets and sharing information among the Ministries/organizations as well as cooperation with private organizations.

He called on sharing knowledge on the anti-corruption and participation in the activities to prevent bribery. After that, member of Anti-Corruption Commission explained about conducting awareness seminar on anti-corruption.

The Union Minister, the Deputy Minister, the Commission member and officials then veiwed around the photos on the activities of the Minsitry on the anti-corruption. Officials then discussed the nature of corruption, causes and effects, activities of the Commssion and investigation and replied the queries of the staff.
