Awareness campaigns on fire: Fire outbreaks occurred more than last year

The occurrences of fire outbreak across the country were more than last year, according to a responsible official of Myanmar Fire Brigade Headquarters. Fire outbreaks caused due to fire of negligence, kitchen fire, electrical fire and wild fire outnumbered any other causes, said, the responsible official.

Myanmar fire Department recorded a total of 705 outbreaks of fire and total losses were over 11.65 billion kyats from January to April in 2023. 51 people were killed with 111 injured due to the fire outbreak. The 1765 buildings and 6 factories destroyed in the whole country.

As the temperature is in highest level in the country now, the public should be aware of the fire and the fire extinguisher should be kept in every house. It is learnt that in order to reduce the risk of fire, the members of the Myanmar fire brigade will organize and cooperate with the people and carry out awareness campaigns on fire danger.
