Awarding Ceremony: SAC attends awarding ceremony for farmers

The awarding ceremony of farmers who could cultivate exceeding the target yield of summer paddy in Kayah State for 2022-2023 fiscal year was held at the state hall in Loikaw on Tuesday.

At the event, member of the State Administration Council Porel Aung Thein said that the State is carrying out for development of agriculture and livestock industries inclusive the entire people for the prosperity of the state and food sufficiency with advanced methods.

He congratulated the farmers in Kayah state as they could cultivate exceeding the target yield of summer paddy and called on farmers to strive for exceeding the target yield of monsoon paddy, also.

Later, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin said the state government’s assistance for the needs of agriculture and livestock industries development and called for departmental officials to achieve high yield, to get irrigated water and to use quality strains and advanced methods.

In Kayah State, 3,430 acres of summer paddy were cultivated in 2022-2023 fiscal year and more than 600 farmers were able to grow the paddy to exceed the target yield. Later, head of the State Agricultural Department reported on cultivation of paddy in the state and selection for prizes.

The SAC member, the State Chief Minister, the Commander of Eastern Command and officials then presented farm implements and certificates of honour to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winning farmers and special prize winners. After the ceremony, the SAC member and party cordially greeted farmers attending the ceremony.
