Avalanche in East Turkiye kills one Judoka

An avalanche at the Palandöken Mountain in East Turkiye killed one Judoka. 14 athletes from the Judo National Team were training in a high-altitude camp at the mountain, when an avalanche occurred.

Health and rescue teams were swiftly dispatched to the region. 16-year-old athlete, who was trapped under the snow mass, could not be saved despite all interventions. He was breathing when he first came out. Three athletes were rescued in an injured condition.
