


Australia and Singapore agreed to the continued flow of refined fuel and liquefied natural gas (LNG) on Friday as the trading partners boosted ties amid Mideast conflicts.
Australian Prime MinisterAnthony Albanese signed a non-binding agreement on Friday with his counterpart Singapore’s Lawrence Wong, saying they would make maximum efforts to meet each other's energy security needs. Anthony Albanese , Australian Prime Minister said "We provide about 32% of LNG to Singapore. Singapore provides about 26% of refined fuel for Australia.This is an important relationship, and at a time where fuel security is on the agenda right around the globe due to the conflict in the Middle East, this relationship is more important than ever."
Earlier on Friday, Albanese visited a refinery and LNG terminal on Singapore's strategic Jurong Island and said it was vitally important for Australia and its Asian partners to coordinate a mutual response to the crisis.
