Australia has struck a new agreement with the Solomon Islands to bolster the size of the nation’s police force on Friday.

The $190 million will help to grow the royal Solomon Island’s police force and establish a new centre in Honiara.

Australia has been scrambling to preserve its strategic influence in the country after China struck its own security and policing agreements with the government there.
