The Tatmadaw, in consideration of the devastating and rare natural disaster, which has severely affected the people across the country, announced a temporary ceasefire period from April 2 to April 22, 2025, with the aim of providing assistance, relief, and rebuilding efforts to the citizens.

During this temporary ceasefire period announced by the Tatmadaw, it has been reported that the KIA group and the PDF have been engaged in disruptive and violent attacks that have harmed security forces and innocent civilians.

On Friday afternoon at around 2:00 PM, the Tatmadawmen and the People's Militia (Local) members, who are on a security duty in Moenyin, were suddenly attacked by KIA and PDF on the motorcycles, using hand grenades. As a result, two security personnel and two civilians were injured and have been transported to Moenyin People's Hospital for medical treatment.

The KIA and the PDF, in the face of the earthquake disaster, have shown a complete lack of compassion for the suffering of the citizens within the country. This violent attack, conducted during a time of national crisis, reflects their utter disregard for humanity and constitutes an act of violence.

The security forces, in coordination with the people and the local community, will continue their duties in ensuring territorial security across the nation. They will also continue to engage in rescue, relief, and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas, in collaboration with various organizations.
