Attack on checkpoint kills 9 police in northern Pakistan

At least nine police officers were killed in an attack on the Khazina Banda security checkpoint in the Hangu district of Pakistan on Wednesday. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group, which has intensified its insurgency in the region, claimed responsibility for the attack. It was learned that another 28 officers were injured, and 15 attackers were killed in the retaliatory gun battle.
