Assistance for Relief Measures: Indian Prime Minister conveys deep condolences

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his deep condolences to Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the loss of lives in the devastating earthquake during a phone conversation on Saturday.
Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed thanks for the assistance by the Indian Government and its people. He also explained the ongoing rescue measures and condition of losses and damages, with the most casualties in Mandalay. The assistance provided by India is very encouraging for the ongoing rescue operation, with the priorities of restoration transportation access.
The Indian Prime Minister also expressed his sympathy for the disastrous situation which India faced the severe earthquake in 2001 with many losses of lives and properties. He stressed that as a close friend and neighbour, India stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult hour, adding that disaster relief material, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue teams are being expeditiously dispatched to the affected areas.
