Assistance for education: UEC Chairman attended ceremony of providing Edu. Asst.

The ceremony of providing educational assistance for the children of the personnel from the Union Election Commission office and offices from different levels of sub election commissions for 2024-2025 academic year was held at the UEC office in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 3rd of June.

In his opening remark at the ceremony, Chairman of Union Election Commission U Ko Ko clarified the providing personnel welfare, educational assistance, importance of education sector and the status of prioritizing education sector by the State Administration Council etc. extensively.

Next, the UEC members provided educational assistance and the UEC office, Regions, States and Union Territory sub–Election Commissions accepted and the Assistant Director from Loikaw District Sub Election Commission office expressed words of thanks on behalf of all families who received the cash assistance for the education.

After giving a speech of conclusion by the UEC Chairman, the ceremony was concluded.The Union Election commission provided over 4.8 million Kyats for 488 primary, middle, High school and university students in 2022-2023 academic year, over 6 million Kyats for 609 students in 2023-2024 academic year, over 6.1 million Kyats for 611 students including 551 basic education students and 60 university students in this 2024-2025 academic year, it’s learnt.
