Assistance and Operation: Provisions for students and meeting on mill operation

The Ministry of Industry provided assistance to the students who will sit for the matriculation exams for 2024-2025 academic year. Union Minister Dr Charlie Than attended the event held in hybrid system on Saturday. 

A total of 317 students offspring of the ministry’s staff will sit for this year matriculation exam. During the event, provisions were made for 9 students from No.1 Steel Mill (Myinchan) and 7 from No.2 Steel Mill in Pangpet. In a subsequent meeting, Union Minister Dr Charlie Than discussed the work undertakings at the steel mill in Myinchan. 

The operation of Myinchan Steel Mill was resumed in 2022 after suspending for over five years. Under the guidance of the Head of State, the local and international experts made efforts for reoperation, and the Foundry has commenced its operation in March 2023, and 21,100 tons of Steel Billet have been manufactured as of today. 

The second and third phases of the operation will continue with added momentum.
