








As the promotion of the 19th ASIAN Games, Asian games fun run competition in Myanmar took place at the athletic field in Kyaikkasan stadium, Tamwae Township of Yangon starting from 8 AM on 10th March.
General secretary of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Myanmar Mr. Peng Fong, Director General of the department of Sports and Physical Education U Htun Myint Oo, OCA (Olympic Council of Asia ) Media Manager Mr. Zhou Jian, Hangzhou Asian Game Organizing Committee member Mr. Ding Jiong, many other concerned officials, guests and athletes attended the Asian Games Fun run Competition.
Director-General, Department of Sports and Physical Education, Htun Myint Oo said “We conduct the fun run as we promote to raise awareness for all the participant countries to have interest in Asian Games. Firstly, we pursue the citizens to be interested in Asian Games to some extent. It is also a sport promotion. We will compete at the Asian games with 12 sports included football, track and field, wushu, Sepaktakraw, dudo, taekwondo, e -sports.”
The Asian Games fun run is held in all Asian countries to commemorate the 19th Asian Games led by the Olympic Council of Asia, including Myanmar. The 19th ASIAN Games will be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023 in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China and five co-host cities.
Director-General, Department of Sports and Physical Education, Htun Myint Oo said “30 million kyats for First prize, 20 million kyats for second prize, 10 million kyats for third prize were presented. In addition, after the prize awarding ceremony, 3300 USD for first prize winner, 2200 USD for second and 1100 USD for third prize were presented. For the athlete’s future life, we provide monthly allowance to the athletes starting from age-60 as long as they live. They are also awarded with the honorary titles. Sport can raise the pride of the country so we need to turn out the young athletes and we will try our best.”
The Race of men and women above 13 years old (1.4km), Race under 13 years old (400 meter) and Race of disabled person (100m) were conducted. After the competition, the respective officials presented the prizes to the winners and took the documentary photo with the athletes.
