Asia Pacific Meetings: 7th Asia Pacific Regional Meeting, 2nd Asia Pacific Women’s Meeting

The final day of the 7th Asia Pacific Regional Meeting and 2nd Asia Pacific Women’s Meeting was succesfully held in Yangon on Sunday.

This year, 2-day meetings on 6 and 7 July are hosted in Myanmar by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and the theme is “Diaspora’s Role in Nation’s Prosperity”. Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, Former Foreign Minister of Nepal, Nepal Ambassador to Myanmar, Chief Patron and President of NRNA, President of NRNA Myanmar, Vice President of Confederation of Nepali Industries, MP of National Parliament of Nepal and President of FNCCI attended the ceremony and gave speeches.

Union Minister, Ministry of International Cooperation, H.E. Kyaw Tin said “As this is the very first time that this association meets in Myanmar, it adds as a milestone in Myanmar-Nepal relations. It will provide us opportunities not only for strengthening unity and sovereignty among the people of Nepalese origin but also to foster the bonds of friendships, enhance people to people contact that happily exist between Myanmar and Nepal.”

Meetings related to women and youths were held on the first day and the second day included separate panel discussions on topics such as Investment Opportunities in Myanmar, Diaspora Role in Nation Prosperity, Visit Nepal 2020 and Tourism and Connectivity. Nepalese performers entertained the audience with Ganesh Bandana dance and Resamfiriri song as well as dances of Myanmar ethnic groups.
