ASEAN Project Development: Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters

The 2nd virtual workshop on ASEAN Project Development for ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters was conducted on 1st February, in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat.

The workshop discussed plans to consolidate and strengthen cooperative efforts in addressing the illicit drugs challenges, to effectively implement regional anti-narcotics drug activities, safer communities and ASEAN Work Plan on Securing Communities against Illicit Drugs 2016–2025 as well as ways to deal with the regional drug abuse problems and challenges.

This workshop was held with the purpose of obtaining knowledge and information about the main processes involved in the implementation of ASEAN Cooperation Projects – ACP, funding and good support from partner organizations in addition to enabling the representatives from member countries to get into the operation status.

The ASEAN Cooperation Plan is not only the work process that the member countries have to participate to achieve the common goals set for the entire ASEAN community but also the activity that must be implemented according to the framework established by all partner countries and organizations outside the region. 

And, the cooperation of all countries plays a pivotal role in tackling the drug issues that most countries around the globe are facing today.
