ASEAN / Japan: Virtual meeting on Agriculture and Forest

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung participated in the meeting of the ASEAN-Japan Ministers on Agriculture and Forest (AJMAF) virtually. At the meeting, Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Mr. Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad Bin Sabu and Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forest and Fisheries Mr. Miyashita Ichiro delivered the opening speeches.

At the meeting, they discussed the matters on the ASEAN-Japan Midori cooperation programme and food security and safety, and environmental protection among others. It’s reported that to mark the 50th ASEAN-Japan friendly collaboration, a paper reading session titled “Promoting Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture and Food System through Innovation” will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in November with the support of the ASEAN and East Asia Economic Research Organization.
