Arrival of visitors in Shan State: Domestic visitor numbers have increased in compared to last year

The number of local and foreign visitors in Shan State was over 660,000 in 2022 and that in 2023 was more than 965,000 visitors. The domestic visitors have visited mostly in Shan State and the number of domestic visitors in Shan State has increased to over 300,000 compared to last year, according to an official of Shan State Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

There are a total of over 400 hotels in Shan State and of them, 337 hotels are operating. Kalaw in the southern Shan State is being implemented as the tourism city. The Russian Language courses were opened in Taunggyi and Kalaw in Shan State South as the hotel service for 5 times including basic training courses for 4 times and 1 refresher course.

For the convenience of Chinese visitors when paying a visit to Shan State, the Chinese language courses and hotel service courses organized by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism will be opened in October, November and December, according to the official.
