On April 24, Armenians worldwide observe Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, honoring the estimated 1.5 million victims of the 1,915 genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire. The day commemorates the systematic deportation and mass killings of Armenians, beginning with the arrest and execution of hundreds of Armenian intellectuals in Istanbul on this date.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and thousands of other people lay flowers at the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial on Genocide Remembrance Day. The Prime Minister, accompanied by senior officials, religious leaders, and foreign dignitaries, walked the path leading to the eternal flame, where he placed a wreath in honor of the estimated 1.5 million victims.
