











The 80th anniversary Armed Forces Day military parade was held at the headquarters of the North command in Myitkyina, Kachin State on March 27.
The military parade was carried out in a military column of the parade companies with the parade commander and units leading the way in formation. Following this, the State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Commander of North command Ma-J Gen. Aung Zaw Htwe, senior military officers, members of the state government, unit commanders from the military, and distinguished guests paid their respects to the national flag and fallen Tatmadawmen of the armed forces.
Subsequently, the commander delivered a speech for Armed Forces Day, and the Chief Minister, commander, and officials warmly greeted the families of the military officers and guests who attended. Additionally, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of advance planning for activities aimed at preventing flooding from the Ayeyarwady River in Myitkyina and inspected the sand dredging project under the Bala Min Htin Bridge to ensure that entrepreneurs could start the project.
The Chief Minister and officials then inspected the availability of roads for vehicles transporting sand within the sand dredging area, ensuring road safety for the transportation of materials while coordinating with entrepreneurs. Later, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Ayeyarwady River view relaxation area in Sitapu Ward and inspected the sites of sunflowers cultivated along the riverbank area, evaluating land clearing efforts and planning for additional planting during periods when river water levels are receded.
Furthermore, on 26th March, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Chief Minister’s Trophy U-18 men football competition jointly organized by the State Department of Sports and Physical Education and Kachin State former Football selection group, was held in honoring the 80th anniversary of Armed Forces Day.
The Chief Minister gave an opening speech and officially opened the competition. After that, the Chief Minister and officials visited the D-Home Land estate of U Dashi Yawba's family, located near the Krianaw relaxation area in the Mankhein (Shwesak) Ward, to inspect plans for establishing a relaxation center along the banks of the Ayeyarwady River within the Myitkyina Township, evaluating the necessary technical support and assistance to be provided by relevant departments.
