President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez swore in six new cabinet ministers to renew his government on Monday, after a major electoral defeat and a public fight with Vice President Cristina Fernández. Juan Manzur was named Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero was sworn in as Foreign Minister, Julián Perzyck as Education Minister, Aníbal Fernández as Security Minister, Daniel Filmus to head Science and Technology; and Julián Domínguez for Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries.

Earlier in September, the opposition "Together for change" won the primaries for future legislative elections with 41.5 percent of the votes, with the official Peronist "Front for everybody" obtained 31.8 percent." If this trend is confirmed in the November 14 election, the ruling party will lose control of the upper house and the simple majority in the lower house.
