Aquatic products processing: Quality Assurance System Devt. Project conducted

As the poverty alleviation project at the village level among Mekong-Lancang countries, the Quality Assurance System Development Project concerning small and medium scale conventional aquatic products production in Myanmar has started in January 2023.
 
Bago and Mandalay Regions as well as Rakhine State have been selected for the project.

The Quality Assurance System Development Project Phase II for the small and medium scale conventional aquatic products has been scheduled from January 2023 to December 2024. During the project, the selected businesses will produce and sell value-added products consistent with health. 

Zaw Lwin Win, Director, Department of Fisheries (Bago Region), said " We selected fish paste, dried fish, fish sauce and fermented fish and prawn businesses and so on. We will conduct trainings on the regional products. Mainly, we intend to the food safety of the people and also quality assurance of the products. There are 157 small and medium aquatic product processing business in Bago region this year. Therefore, as the initiate project, the program is conducted in Bago region under Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Project."

During the project period, it can be proposed to receive necessary assistance that is suitable with the region. According the Department of Fisheries in Bago Region, they have proposed the dried fish business in the region in this year under Mekong-Lancang cooperation project.
