Application for registration: KySPP submitted application to establish political party

In accordance with Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, which governs the registration of political parties for participation in the general elections, the Kayah State People's Party (KySPP), which seeks to establish a political party, has today on 11th November, 2024, applied to the Union Election Commission to be registered as a political party in line with the law and by-laws.

As of to date, 18 parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and under Section 25 of the law, 50 parties have applied for continued establishment and registration as political parties. In total, 68 parties have applied. It is reported that the Union Election Commission is continuing to review the application of this newly registered group to determine whether to grant permission for the establishment of the party.
