Anti-Corruption Programme: Discussion on corruption prevention awareness

The Anti-corruption Commission and the Ministry of Electric Power jointly held a corruption prevention awareness programme on Thursday at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

In this event, Union Minister U Nyan Tun said that the programme is to help the governmental employees know the matters that may lead to corruption, negative consequences for the State, provisions of the Anti-Corruption Law and penalties. Due to corruption, the morals of individuals are damaged and it could delay the country's development.

Governmental employees have to be honest and responsible in carrying out the public service activities. Only if all can implement and build a good administrative system with civil servants who are free from corruption, the state will develop from all sides.

The Union Minister also urged the attendees to share what they’ve got from this programme. And, a member of the Anti-corruption Commission stressed that the knowledge sharing programme is a fundamental method in the fight against corruption.

All forms of corruption hinder the country's comprehensive development, the member added. And, discussions were made on the Anti-Corruption Law, nature of corruption, prevention and complaints section.
